St. Wilfrid’s Sixth Form offers a wide range of academic and vocational courses. They wanted a two-minute film to promote the opportunities they offer to prospective students and their parents.
In pre-production we worked closely with St. Wilfrid’s to understand what they wanted to achieve with their film. Then we produced a storyboard and script to reflect their goals.
“We felt the Feature media guidance through the planning process was particularly helpful, it was professional right from the initial consultation to completion.” Kevin Walsh, Deputy Business manager, St. Wilfrid’s
St. Wilfrid’s wanted to show off their facilities and dispel any pre-conceived notions which existing students might have about the sixth form being part of a school environment. We filmed students working in dedicated sixth form study areas, the common room, and the diner, to highlight the major differences between the sixth form experience and the lower school. We used the Glide Cam extensively, giving the video a dynamic feel free from jarring.
During production, we worked with staff and students to help them feel at ease and gave them tips on how to feel comfortable and look natural in front of the camera.
In post-production we edited the film and used motion graphics throughout to accentuate key points.
St. Wilfrid’s are happy with their film and are using it in several areas.
“We found Feature Media to be flexible and creative with clear direction when this was needed. We enjoyed working with Feature Media. They were friendly, supportive and great fun!!. We are delighted with the video, it certainly ticks all the boxes for us as a promotional video. We are using the video on our website, twitter and are exploring putting it on in the cinema.”
